Sensational Nature Playground

In mid 2016 the P and C association agreed to fund and develop a new Natureplay area for children at the school.  We decided to strip out the old derelict cricket nets on the bottom oval and make use of a nature strip area that was not currently being used. Nature 1
The P and C had been raising funds over the last few years for a project such as this one and we were also lucky to receive a grant from Cleanaway and sponsorship from IGA towards the play area.  The prefects of 2017 also very kindly donated $5,000 of hard earned fundraising towards the project.Nature 2
We then enlisted the expert help of Natureplay Solutions who worked hard to design a playground that would incorporate all the elements we wished for.Nature 3
The Comovers Fathering Project Group at the school then set about demolishing the old cricket nets so work could begin.  Natureplay Solutions did a fantastic job in transforming the area into a new playground. Nature 4
To finish off the project a busy bee was held over the  2017 Christmas break with over thirty parents and kids helping to plant 150 new plants and spread 35 cubic meters of mulch!  Despite a lot of sweat and a few sore muscles a great morning was had by all.
The new nature play area is a fantastic addition to the school playground to be enjoyed by children at Como Primary School for years to come.Complete 1
